[Bugs-team] Bugs Team start

Hi,

sorry i let you wait for so long, i was a bit distracted this week. As
you all know, we had our Kick-Off Meeting one week ago. For these who
couln't attent, i like to conclude the relevant information.

Main job for us is to check for new bugs and assing them to the relevant
consolidation. A consolidation is a group of software that is build
together. Consolidations are used by Sun/Opensolaris to build the OS.
Since we're just taking the sources from Opensolaris for the most
Consolidations (currently all but ON, the core system which is not
longer available in public and will be replaced by Illumos), we also
have the same set of consolidations. The different consolidations have
differnet build systems, for the most software it is obvious to which
consolidation they belong (Evolution to JDS, Xorg-Server to XNV, etc.)
but for some software it is not obvious (Python in JDS for example). Our
Job is to find out to which Consolidation a Bug is related to and assing
the proper group account.


Currently we have the following group accounts, they are linket to a a
mailing-list for each consolidations. Developers of the consolidations
will need to subscribe to the relevant mailinglist, what is not yet done
(we'll work on it):
OI Caiman, OI G11n, OI JDS, OI PKG, OI SFW, OI Userland, OI Vpanels, OI
XNV,

You all now have the privileges to assing bugs to the relevant Group
account as well as do any other task in the bug tracker.

If you think a bug is invalid, or a dublicate, you can link the Bug to
its duplicate or close the bug as invalid. Remember to make an comment
why you closing a bug, thus the reporter will get informet.

You can do more works on bugs if you like to (fully optional):

You can ask the reporter for futher informations, or try to reproduce or
solve the bug by your self. If you choose to, plese assing the bug to
your self thus other will not start to work on the same bug. If you need
support or a testsystem, please ask in oi-dev (Mailing-List as well as IRC).

If you have any questions or problems, you can alsways aks in oi-dev,
here, me directly ot any other member of the OI Dev teaam. Our primary
Bugs Team internal communication system is this mailing list.

You can, if you like to, check for Bugs that noone is working on for a
long time but is assingned. You can ask the relevant developer if he is
still working on the bug, if he does not respond, you can ask the
relevant consolidation team or reassing the bug to the consolidation.
However, it is not our responsibility to do so.


I hope i didn't miss anything, if so, please let me know or just ask
here. You can work on the Bugs Team as much as you like, there is no
limit or duty. Please let us know, if you plan to be away for a longer
time (For example are unable to read/write Mails for longer than two weeks).
