About current issue:<br>
-Where is OI Hipster encumbered repository located? (how to add and
install it to current installs?)<br>
Encumbered repository clearly needs to be hosted separately from
Main OI repository,<br>
to be able to distribute Oi within United States. It is US roblem
they have retarded copyright laws,<br>
but it is obviously needed to be able to mirror and use OI withing
U.S. <br>
And that can be only done with encumbered packages kept in separate
repo and hosted outside U.S.<br>

Shouldn't 'Heads-up' be on top? :)<br>

About sound, my volume setting stopped working recently (about month
ago) in Hipster. I need to start sound preferences to set it up.
Also to get full volume, I also need to set up "Built in speaker" to
the higer level after every restart, but that is an ald issue.<br>

Isn't changing illumos.sh to reflect Perl update,<br>
could be addressed with automatic patching of copy of upstream
illumos source code before building it?<br>
Does OI Hipster or OI /dev have separate list of patches to apply to
illumos, prior shipping?<br>

In other terms, it is great what you do Aurélien,<br>
it is valuable source of information, it would improve over time,

There has been a lot of activity in the past weeks in
oi-userland [1], summarized below: most notable being the
encumbered repository.<br>

1. Hipster encumbered repository<br>
<br>
The encumbered repository for Hipster [2] was created to
provide multimedia software which used to be part of
sfe-encumbered.<br>
As a first step ffmpeg 2.7.2 and dependencies were added.<br>
<br>
You can find a list of components which ought to be added in
the coming weeks, on the Wiki page [3].<br>
<br>
Contributing new components is as easy as:<br>
<br>
- forking + cloning the oi-userland repository,<br>
- copying one subdirectory of components/encumbered to get
started,<br>
- modify the Makefile and add patches if necessary such that
‘gmake install’ succeeds,<br>
- generating a manifest with ‘gmake sample-manifest’ and
modifying it if necessary,<br>
- creating a pull-request.<br>

3. Heads-up: Perl 5.10 deprecation<br>
<br>
Removal of Perl 5.10 means that default illumos.sh will not
work any longer and you need to add :<br>
<br>
export PERL_VERSION="5.22";<br>
export PERL_PKGVERS="-522"<br>
<br>
to illumos.sh while compiling illumos-gate.<br>
<br>
