[OpenIndiana-discuss] support for ARECA ARC1880 on OpenIndiana

Hi Gabriele,

Make sure you are a 'privileged' admin mode when using the CLI tool. ;)

CLI should report the name of your controller and then you can type something like 'disk -h' to see info.

I don't know your config setup, but just check your firmware setup and the drivers are installed and functioning properly. Check disk setup and performance from there.

Gabriele,

You should have things in working order if the drivers installed correctly. I just was mentioning to you the latest version of acrmsr.

You can use the Areca CLI tool to manage the controller from there. It is also on the website in the download area.

Thanx Ken :) I did install the package on OpenIndiana, reboot with /reconfigure, but I can't see
any of the disks attached to the ARECA controller.
Also, modinfo does not show the arcmsr driver loaded.
Is there something else I need to do to let it see the disks?

Thanx,
Gabriele.
