[OpenIndiana-discuss] About the Free NIC drivers project

Hello all,

Sorry for cross-posting, but I am not sure if the question pertains
to illumos (kernel gate) or OI (distro): are the ethernet drivers from
http://homepage2.nifty.com/mrym3/taiyodo/eng/ aka "Free NIC drivers
for OpenSolaris" anyhow included in illumos or OI core repositories,
or (if yes) tracked to regularly include newer revisions of these
drivers?

They are distributed under BSD license, so I guess it is permitted
to take them "as is" and put into illumos-gate, for example (possibly
with some packaging/integration "glue" files)? Or is some other repo
more suitable to, in essence, regularly pull third-party tarballs?
This is like illumos-userland/oi-build in nature, but also this is
a kernel driver project... I am at a loss with taxonomy here :-)
