Author: Ken Mays
Status: New
Priority: Normal
Assignee: OI illumos
Category: OS/Net (Kernel and Userland)
Target version:
Difficulty: Expert
Tags: usb, superspeed

Expand support for USB 3.1 devices (“SuperSpeed+/SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps” devices) that will use the xhci host controller driver for data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps. The xhci host controller driver supports all USB devices, with the exception of audio devices. The xhci host controller driver supports interrupt, control, and bulk transfers for USB hosts, including super speed+, super speed, and non-super speed bus interfaces. Compatibility with USB 3.0, 2.0 , 1.1, and 1.0 devices and drivers is supported so that you can use the same cables, connectors, and software interfaces. (pkg: system/io/usb)
