[JDS] [OpenIndiana Distribution - Bug #4579] Fresh install of 151a8 then pkg update breaks gnome-panel

Issue #4579 has been updated by Anonymous.


It is not necessary a "fresh 151a8" 
I have a7 updated to a8 and now pkg update to a9.
Just a thought: I do not use the hipster repo, so maybe it is already fixed, only not included in the /dev repository?

After rebooting an updated system with pkg update, I can login gdm which then goes to a completely empty screen.  If I insert a CD then an icon appears on the desktop which I can open the file browser and then get a xterm open.  If I kill the pid of gnome-panel, it then restarts by itself and the task bars show up like they should be.  I have been unable to find anything in error log files regarding this, but its easily reproducible.  If you tell me what log I should be looking at I can paste from it.  Thanks.
