Hello,

The Illumos kernel DRM/KMS (kernel mode setting) is being worked on from a student at the Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden: Robin Axelsson.

His current KMS work is here: https://github.com/raichoo/illumos-gate/commits/kms

Subject: [oi-dev] ATI Radeon 7.0.0 driver & Intel 2012Q4 graphics package

Hi Ken,

I have an Intel HD Graphics GPU (Intel Celeron Sandy Bridge).
With the version 2.18.0 of the Intel Xorg driver, would it be able to use the 3D acceleration or i should wait the i915 (with KMS/DRI2 support) Illumos driver?

Actually, i'm able to run an X11 session only with vesa driver, but
when i use mplayer i can't play an HD film.

Anyway, i want to thank you for this huge work.

Best regards and happy new year,

Luca De Pandis
