Hello.
We are still alive if you mean this :)

It's not the best time for OI. There are not enough developers, but we 
are progressing slowly.
There are currently two OI distributions.

The distribution constructed in the old way, OI dev. It uses Sun Studio 
compilers and Sun-derived build systems and consolidations. Last release 
was 151a9 in January.  Since then this distribution receives only 
critical bug fixes. The problem is that there are too much issues and 
too little fixes.

The development distribution which is using rolling-release model, OI 
Hipster. To be clear, I'm biased as I work on this distribution. It uses 
Oracle userland-based build system and GCC compiler. It delivers the 
latest illumos-gate version and receives more attention these days. But 
it can be not stable enough for production use - e.g, there can be 
breakage of some interfaces (for example, we've just deprecated all 
Studio-compiled C++ libraries and moved GCC-compile C++ libraries to 
/usr, in this way clearly breaking ABI) and applications (after all, 
that's development distribution).
