Hello,

1. 'Whether the whole oi-userland should be rebuilt after updating GCC' - Answer: No, due to backward compatibility. Long-term, you'd want to ensure the new compiler does compile oi-userland and other consolidations without issues from a 'reassurance' perspective.

2. Becoming sketchy to keep supporting GCC 3.4.3. With GCC 4.8.3 passing GCC testsuite at near 100%, is there a true need to keep GCC 3.4.3?
