[oi-dev] OI hipster-2015 under vmware

It looks like the tools provided by vmware are not compatible with the
Xorg server in hipster-2015.  Xorg.0.log says:

These appear to be available here.
   http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual/driver/

Has anyone tried to get these to build? If not, where would one add
it?  I guess the xnv consolidation, but where is the one hipster uses?

Strangely, this vmware driver (on the same system) seems to be OK:
