[oi-dev] Linker option 'discard-unused=sections' ?

Hi,
I encountered '--gc-sections' in a Makefile that assumes that the GNU
linker is used and came across:

which indicates using* '*-z discard-unused=sections' but, as it seems, it
is only present in Solaris 11.1.

Does illumos' ld provide similar option ?
