IIRC most if not all that GUI is Java, and ancient one at that (IIRC a 1.3 jre was pulled into the installdir not too long ago), so the deps would be (mostly?) its, used for graphics.

Maybe the best shot is to try installing and then running on an X-less zone, adding pkg's as you go to get the installer running, and then the tools. My existing (sonewhere) written notes were made long ago, and relevant till Oracle DB 8, maybe 9 or 10. It won't help much to look up the list of SUNW packages to add into a non-X zone (display provided by VNC in the GZ).
