Nikola, did you use asciidoc? There is simple text-file markup similar to that used in ascii emails for decades, and command-line parsers to convert it into xml, html, pdf, whatever. There are Firefox and IDE plugins for realtime previews. The file is perfectly readable and writable in any vi, mcedit or notepad.
You are not required to use evil google or whatever networked to write it, all tools (except dblatex for pdf afaik) are available in oi/hipster today.
