Does the web app linking work? On desktop I have always used that, way more
stable and less cranky than a native whatsapp desktop app.

Try a fantastic open-source OS like pop_os instead. Many folks are using
that one exactly for all those purposes. If you're using AI tools for
photos you probably don't need much fancy desktop photo editing apps
anymore.
