Howdy,
When will we get the latest openzfs features on illumos / illumos zfs?
I use root with zfs configuration on linux that is pretty power efficient (well
balanced to optimize battery life). Due to a lot of features missing I do feel
the pain as illumos zfs is lagging behind and to use that on my notebook.
Best!

UFS is not maintained, and also not compatible with BSD. There is no support for Linux Ext FS (even Ext2, which all BSD support).

But if you put illumos out of the picture, I suggest Microsoft FS like exFAT (FAT32 if you are OK with the 4GB file size limit and your drive is small enough), or NTFS for portability. exFAT has FUSE implementation that available on all platforms I know (except illumos).
