Building single binary RustApps on Illumos may need some more work than 
Go apps as I have seen with RustFS on Illumos  that needs some 
modifications in the build process - but doable and straight forward 
with AI help without too much problems or work.

How to build Rust apps via AI

You would need an OI dev machine > 16GB RAM with Rust, Anthropic Claude 
Desktop or a cheap Chinese Deepseek v4 flash on Visual Studio Code + 
Cline eg on Windows either with passwordless SSH access to OI eg via 
plink. Then you can ask Claude or Deepseek to clone sources, start the 
build process on OI, read logs about problems and retry until success.
