[oi-dev] Using Linux binary CUPS packages on OI

It seems to me we should be able to run a  Linux instance using VirtualBox which functions as a network connected print server.  The printer is on the net physically and the OI - Linux instance com  is internal.
This would allow using commonly available  Linux configuration files by simply installing the driver in the Linux print server instance.
Has anyone done this?  I don't see any serious technical difficulty doing this other than sheer annoyance.
