[OpenIndiana-discuss] *sigh* remote desktop thingy

Thank you all for the support. I'm sorry i didn't mention that i used the text-installer, from my point of view the textinstaller meant "uses no gui to install". 
I have to get used to the differences between Solaris10 and OpenIndiana. I am/was not familiar with the "pkg search" and "pkg install" routines, but that really makes a sysadmins life a much easier. Thumbs up fort he persons who created it. 

The installer of slim_install fails. But i will start over with the latest release. 

root at openindiana:~# pkg install slim_install

erm ... could you have said so? we'd get to the point much quicker if
you provided the information you have and your conclusions, not just a
tidbit that might or might not be relevant.

since you don't have gdm installed, why not apply the "pkg search gdm;
pkg install <what you found out>" pattern?
