I just went to the main page, clicked on the support drop-down menu and 
clicked on Wiki and it came up ok for me. No need to add port 8080.

And now I'm going to attempt the update again, I had some errors when I 
did the 'pkg uninstall entire' command and had to remove a few packages 
from the contrib repo. The only one I use somewhat regularly was grsync 
so I'll have to add it back later.
