The only closed binary bits I can think of that Motif depends on would be 
the localization bits from libc that illumos is replacing.   I believe 
they're trying to maintain ABI compatibility, but you'll have to see how
well that works when it's ready.   Most of the libraries it links against
are the open source X11 libraries, plus libc, libtsol, & libdl from ON.
