It was created by graphics designers working for Sun, and I believe (but
have not confirmed and cannot swear to), that the terms for its usage are
similar to that of the other OpenSolaris trademarks spelled out on the
website.   Certainly it was allowed to be included in the freely
redistributable packages/iso images.
