If you have a copy of /var/log/Xorg.0.log from the failure
(/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old after an X restart), could you attach it
here? The problem is most likely just that our NVIDIA drivers (from
134) are too old to support your card. You may be able to just
download new ones from the NVIDIA web site - make sure you 'pkg
uninstall driver/graphics/nvidia' first since the downloaded drivers
are in SVR4 format.

Our hands may be tied at the moment because of unclear terms of
redistribution for the regular driver downloads (also lacking time to
repackage the drivers). I just took a moment to check the current
license for the drivers:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nv_swlicense.html
"2.1.2 Linux/FreeBSD/OpenSolaris Exception. Notwithstanding the
foregoing terms of Section 2.1.1, SOFTWARE designed exclusively for
use on the Linux or FreeBSD operating systems, or other operating
systems derived from the source code to these operating systems, may
be copied and redistributed, provided that the binary files thereof
are not modified in any way (except for unzipping of compressed
files)."
