Yes, it's a build of the same code (but onnv build 147).

Certainly a large number of people are running OpenIndiana 147 inside VirtualBox - the demo I did on the announcement was in VirtualBox.

Sounds like the ISO download is corrupt - try checking the md5sum, it should be:

You can check the md5sum by running the command: md5sum oi-dev-147-x86.iso
