Something I forgot to mention.
You're a lot better off booting from a USB disk than setting up dual
boot.  Many years ago I got a system to boot Solaris, FreeBSD and
Linux from the same disk.   It took about a dozen installs to figure
out how to do it. (the installers kept killing each other)  Not long
after that I installed removable drive trays in all my systems and
stopped doing multiboots.  I won't even consider doing it now.
The only constraint on USB disk is you have to plug it into the same
port each time.  But it's a much better way to do things.  I setup a
friend's Dell D620 to boot Solaris 10 & Linux from a pair of USB disks
w/ Vista on the internal disk.  With the boot order setup as CD-USB-HD
you only need to plug in the disk and bot to get the OS of your
choice.
