I just built a system around a Supermicro X8SAX and a 56xx Xeon CPU.

The motherboard has a single LGA1366 socket.  It will do ECC with 
Nehalem/Westmere Xeons (55xx, 56xx).  Working well with 24GB (6 x 4GB).

Onboard devices (6x sata, usb, audio, 2 x gigE) are all recognized by 
illumos/openindiana.
