No, I didn't.

As far as I know, no one is working on KMS of any flavor for illumos
or openindiana, so I would never say it's forthcoming without hearing
that someone had stepped up to do it.

And while I can't speak to unannounced features of Oracle's Solaris 11
release, the xnv-gate sources I've released use KMS for intel chipsets
and only intel chipsets.   That won't help radeon users, nor users of
any other kernel (such as illumos) that hasn't had the drivers ported.

If you want KMS for illumos or openindiana, you need to get people porting
the kernel code from Linux/BSD.

If you want KMS for anything other than intel graphics, you'll be breaking
new ground, and going where no Solaris-based distro has gone before.
