Hi Everyone,

I've not posted in a long while. Basically, my case (the Fractal R2 Array)
finally came so I'm looking to ask some questions to help me decide on the
final hardware to order to go into this Mini ITX form factor machine (basic
file server).

The parts I'm looking at are all in AUD, preferably from the same shop
(pccasegear because I've ordered from them before and been happy)

R2 Array Case $289.00 (already purchased)
HighPoint RocketHybrid 1220 Adapter $89.00 (based on the Marvell 88SE9130
chipset from what I can tell, for my 5th SATA port)
H67M-ITM Motherboard $109.00 (nice cheap mini-ITX form factor)
8GB Kingston ValueRAM $95.00 (8GB should be plenty for Raidz2 and streaming
some movies to the TV yeah?)
4x Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB @ $129 $516.00 (heard these disks are all
right, play nice with all the sector size issues we've been having with
disks of late I guess?)
Corsair Force Series 60GB SSD $165.00 (Want to install the OS and use the
rest for HD cache)
Intel i3 2100T $155.00 (nice low power CPU)

TOTAL AUD $1,418.00

Can anyone see any problems with these parts? I've got another question
too, if I'm going to be putting the SSD (for OS and Cache) on the PCI-e
88SE9130, would I be able to just pop the CD and install the operating
system on the PCI-e controller SSD leaving the Sata ports on the Mobo for
the storage array?

All and all, I think everything looks like it meets the HCL lists I could
find (except for the LAN controller on the mobo, but
http://echelog.matzon.dk/logs/browse/opensolaris/1294786800 seems to give me
confidence it'll work).

Look forward to hearing your opinions :)

Scotty O'Brien
