IMHO, the RAM utilization expense for dedup ought to spelled out clearly in every Solaris related product on the market (Nexentastor, Oracle 7000 series, etc). It really only makes sense to use dedupe when you're doing something like hosting a VM farm or cluster with 50+ Windows servers of the exact same patch release that are all going to  use the same OS files.
