pkgbuild specfiles are very similar to RPM specfiles so you may
look at Redhat's RPM guide to get an idea on how they work. The
differences and specifics of the pkgbuild specfile format are
documented in

A few introductory resources and reference documentation are on

Finally, looking at exisiting specfiles at
http://hg.openindiana.org/upstream/spec-files-extra/ and
http://hg.openindiana.org/upstream/oracle/spec-files/ might help
quite a bit to get started.
