Might have been the case for SVM volumes with components sharing the
same HDD (LUN)? I am not sure that ZFS does this, but LVM certainly
did hold back raid-set verifications and recoveries where IOs could
fall onto same disks (different slices). Separate disk sets were
processed in parallel however.
