Sorry about the line noise. I always forget how much can be fixed on
windows by a reboot. It must be the most often rebooted OS on the
planet.
So, after a reboot my problems went away... and the best part is, even
the time-slider started working.... just like nothing had happened.
Oh well, I guess I can live with not knowning why all the trouble
cropped up.... but I dare say it has a very heavy component of 'pilot error'.
