First of all, for OpenSolaris and OI, this is not GRUB2, and with its
patches for ZFS features of a particular kernel release, not quite
GRUB 0.97 either. "Based on" and compatible with some stuff - yes :)

I don't think I've ever used installgrub -m flag... maybe it is what
blocks you from installing to cXtYp0? Does installation to the disk
itself (cXtY) also fail?
