While I have not tried it, there are also NetBSD's pkgsrc packages 
for Illumos:

Since this work is done for SmartOS, I am not sure what issues there 
might be with running the binaries under OpenIndiana (I recall that 
all of the packages were being rebuilt again to improve runtime 
portability).

Some Illumos-based distributions are using Debian's apt-get packaging 
system.
