[OpenIndiana-discuss] Oracle Stops Sun Ray development

Hello,

What about SPICE? It is an opensource protocol which works with KVM.
KVM is already part of Illumos. so might it be interesting to port
SPICE/Ovirt as well?
Then we would have a display protocol with similar capabilities as the
ALP protocol.
Clients can than be made from smal ARM based systems like the
cubieboard2 running a stripped down android or ubuntu version of linux.
Session broker functionality will than still be missing.
The clients will not be "'stateless" like the Sun rays but this might be
a nice direction to explore since KVM is already supported.

Kind regards,

Ivar
