FYI: I've upgraded one of my oi151a7 installations via OI hipster. The process was as easy as ...

pkg set-publisher -O http://pkg.openindiana.org/hipster openindiana.org
pkg update -v

and it only took a few minutes to get "SunOS sunblade06 5.11 oi_151a8 i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris"
