I wonder what those cases might be - brainstorming needs an ocean
of ideas ;)

At the moment I find my last email's proposal to be the cleanest
solution - to add "svcadm restart" (or "clear" as applicable) to
the fs-root script after the devfsadm, so that the networking
initialization stuff would re-run after the filesystems with
possible new drivers do get mounted.

In fact, I wonder if NWAM executed without a proper /usr would
break something (half of the calls done in "start" are no-ops
at best, and error-checking is missing or is potentially
misinterpreted for most of them) - perhaps the net-nwam script
should (quietly?) abort in absence of /usr/bin and wait for a
re-run after /usr is mounted.
