Solved as suggested by Mr. Tribble : upgraded glib to 2.40 on XStreamOS :)

I've found updating glib to be pretty safe - on Tribblix, I've simply
replaced the package with a new version and haven't noticed any
problems at all. (Either with 2.40 or earlier version bumps.)
I've currently got lightdm and the gtk greeter built and running.
I can authenticate, it does something, then boots me straight
back to the login screen. So there's still a little more work
required.

I've been trying to get lightdm running on Tribblix as well.
What version of glib are you using?
I had to update glib to 2.40 in order to get gcredential support, otherwise
Lightdm can't connect to dbus. (Or patch gio.)
(It still doesn't work, but that's clearly a necessary step.)

We're stuck before the greeting to appear, looks like X ready signal
(SIGUSR1) is not caught
so, nothing happens after lightdm waits for this X signal.
We debugged process code, everything looks at its place, to receive the
ready signal, but nothing
happens....
Any help?
