Hi Stefan,

not sure, but probably (yes, it could be a problem) during move to new
disks you missed to keep reserved cylinders (x86 version specific). Here
is mine rpool HD layout (although I am not using mirror):

Current partition table (original):
Total disk cylinders available: 19448 + 2 (reserved cylinders)

Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
   0 root wm 3 - 19447 148.96GB (19445/0/0) 312383925
   1 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
   2 backup wu 0 - 19447 148.98GB (19448/0/0) 312432120
   3 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
   4 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
   5 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
   6 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
   7 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
   8 boot wu 0 - 0 7.84MB (1/0/0) 16065
   9 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0

But things are getting even weirder. I booted from DVD, then chain-booted into the HD installation, reinstalled boot loader via installgrub and rebooted. The server went into GRUB menu without a problem and did that again as l resetted from GRUB menu.
