[OpenIndiana-discuss] Bugs 4043 and 4067

OpenHoosiers,
As with Gary, my installing gvfs corrected all ramifications of the bug: ejecting a usb drive, accessing the trash and "computer", and using alacarte to add launchers to the application menu.
Interestingly, before I installed gvfs, I found that ...
pkg verify -v gnome-vfs
... showed that its status was OK. Which tells me that the dependency upon gvfs may not be properly indicated in the gnome-vfs package.
Until knowledgeable people make that correction, this workaround is a welcome blessing.
Thanks Udo and Milan :)

Ah, `pkg info gvfs' showed that it wasn't installed. After I
installed it, the DVD and CD behavior changed completely. Both of my
OI bugs were fixed. I'll update the bug reports. In the meantime,
here's what I found in point form:
o After gvfs install
o After logout and login
o New processes:
mills 4277 1 0 12:46:16 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/gvfs-hal-volume-monitor
mills 4272 1 0 12:46:15 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/gvfsd
mills 4340 1 0 12:46:25 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/gvfsd-computer --spawner :1.11 /org/gtk/gvfs/exec_spaw/1
mills 4345 1 0 12:46:27 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/gvfsd-metadata
mills 4289 1 0 12:46:17 ? 0:00 /usr/lib/gvfsd-trash --spawner :1.11 /org/gtk/gvfs/exec_spaw/0
o File browser window appears when DVD inserted
o Different shaped DVD icon
o Both Unmount and Eject in icon menu
o Just Unmount before
o Unmount works
o Eject works too
o Audio CD is mounted
o Music player window appears
o Music plays!
I wonder why gvfs never got installed when I did the upgrade.
