The Linux origin as relates to Minix seems completely irrelevant now. 
Linux was clearly inspired/guided more by SunOS in its development 
than it was by Minix.  Minix was merely the OS that Linus was playing 
with prior to starting Linux.

The fact that Linux started from scratch is important.
