Hi Toasterson,

I did unpacked MATE to separate directory, and navigated there, then:
$ ls -la
total 22K
drwxr-xr-x 11 root            root   11 May 11 08:23 .
drwxr-xr-x  3 predrag_zecevic admin   3 May 11 08:23 ..
drwxr-xr-x  2 root            root   82 May  5 18:27 bin
drwxr-xr-x  3 root            root    3 Mar 29  2015 doc
drwxr-xr-x  7 root            root    7 May  5 18:27 etc
drwxr-xr-x 24 root            root   24 May  5 18:27 include
drwxr-xr-x 20 root            root  110 May  5 18:28 lib
drwxr-xr-x  5 root            root   30 May  5 17:50 libexec
drwxr-xr-x  3 root            root    3 Mar 29  2015 man
drwxr-xr-x  2 root            root    3 May  3 14:57 sbin
drwxr-xr-x 58 root            root   58 May  5 18:27 share

I see that that structure is not same as / one, and also some files will 
be replaced on existing OS (latest /hipster in my case), for example:

$ ls -al etc/dbus-1/system.d/pulseaudio-system.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1.1K May  5 18:27 
etc/dbus-1/system.d/pulseaudio-system.conf

$ ls -al /etc/dbus-1/system.d/pulseaudio-system.conf
-r--r--r-- 1 root bin 1.4K Oct  3  2015 
/etc/dbus-1/system.d/pulseaudio-system.conf

What I did NOT checked is how many other files will be replaced and how 
many files will be installed on wrong place, for example 'lib' dir 
should go to '/usr/lib'?
