Reg - this can involve a few things like hw, firefox, drivers, etc Please update to oi_151a7 and test from that point. Give us some details on your hardware as well and version of firefox used. I have people testing a new JDS build from Milan Jurik at pkg.opensolaris.cz:10000 which resolved a lot of issues with X11/Firefox hangs. Closing ticket.

I'm experiencing random hangs of X11.  Mouse moves, but can't select anything, move or iconify windows.  Only option it to force a shutdown via the power switch.  Typically  (always???) happens when using Firefox, however, this system is dedicated to internet access, so very little else is ever done on it.

The system ran 148 for a year or so w/o having this happen.  There is nothing in messages, syslog or Xorg.0.log that looks in any way related.

Seems very much like an errant XGrab.
