That's great, but one request:

Please examine the gcc-built libraries and executables with "elfdump -d" to
make sure the lists of dependent libraries and run path settings are
correct.   There have been gcc configurations "out in the wild" that did
undesirable things in that area.  (such as stuffing in /usr/sfw/lib or
worse)  If anything strange shows up, have a close look at the gcc build
configuration.
