I was afraid that was the case. It is recognized as device 'arn' but I've never ported a driver, so it would be a very steep climb and not sure I have the experience to do even port it from FreeBSD. I checked the link you posted, and there is a driver 'atge' for Atheros 82xx. On the OI WiFi page it shows the 'arn' driver works for a 9285 but nothing for AR5B125.
Seems like going back to FreeBSD would be the path of least resistance.

The only thing one could do to make the Situation better is to port over
the freebsd dirvers. I was told it was not that difficult compared to
linux but might still be quite the chellenge if you have never done it
before. I think the current driver might also be related to the FreeBSD
one. Unless it is still from SUN times.
It might even be that the wrong driver attaches to the card.
What you could also try is http://freenicdrivers.la.coocan.jp/
Which might have some drivers for your card/series.
