I just updated the system I installed two days ago, and all the
pulseaudio errors seem to be gone.  However, mate-settings-daemon
still dumps core.  The messages in .xsession-errors that show
ERROR or CRITICAL are these:

  (mate-panel:2259): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: 13:09:07.569: Settings schema 'org.mate.panel.menubar' does not contain a key named 'max-recent-items'
  
  (mate-settings-daemon:2258): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: 13:09:07.578: Settings schema 'org.mate.accessibility-keyboard' does not contain a key named 'capslock-beep-enable'
  Window manager warning: Log level 8: g_main_loop_is_running: assertion 'loop != NULL' failed
  
  (tracker-miner-fs:1614): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: 13:09:07.725: Error while sending AddMatch() message: The connection is closed
