here is my experience with OpenIndiana
Gateway netbook series LT310
Proco AMD L110
radeon 1200 video card
2GB memory
Hard Drive 250
Screen 11.6
Installation is quick and easy.
Hardware supported without problem
OpenIndiana 148 consumes little system resources
The system is very fast, applications are launched quickly
The boot is a bit slow but faster than the last version
In use:
The wifi is working properly. I have a test external card I tested DLink and
work correctly
Level console controls are simple and quick
The sound is very good
Bug
Standby does not work.
Compiz-fusion does not work, blank screen and must force quit
Cairo-dock install in console mode, do not start. The following error
message: ld.so.1: cairo-dock: fatal: libmlib.so.2: open failed: No such file
or directory
Killed
It seems to be missing the following file: librairy "libmlib.so.2"
Bug with Brasero: Can not make an iso image. I have not tried other
functions.
Overall I like this system. And I intend to keep it on the laptop to test over
a longer period.
Nice work and long live OpenIndiana
