Chris,

The "intel" 2.6.3 driver is a part of the Xnv driver packaging (so in the default OI_148 packaging). Some people have reported issues with the current intel driver in OI_147 - possibly OI_148 as well.

The "intel" driver performance is "good enough" for "basic 3D functionality" for business graphics use. Compiz 0.8.4 works OK in advanced mode.

Again, the Nvidia commercial driver suite and GPUs are the official 'advanced' 3D solution at this time.
