Hi all
I just installed this OI-148 box on AMD64, 2+16+2 1TB drives and some 12GB RAM, some L2ARC/SLOG as well. Disks are configured as an rpool mirror and the rest in RAID1+0, two spares (the box will be placed in Tromsø, which is at almost 70˚N, so I won't take much chances). Now, all works, and the box is fast, but automatic snapshotting fails. I've installed and started time-slider as shown here:
root at verdande:~# svcs -a | egrep time\|snap
disabled 19:24:08 svc:/application/time-slider/plugin:rsync
disabled 19:24:08 svc:/application/time-slider/plugin:zfs-send
online 19:24:24 svc:/application/time-slider:default
online 19:24:24 svc:/system/filesystem/zfs/auto-snapshot:daily
online 19:24:24 svc:/system/filesystem/zfs/auto-snapshot:frequent
online 19:24:24 svc:/system/filesystem/zfs/auto-snapshot:weekly
online 19:24:24 svc:/system/filesystem/zfs/auto-snapshot:hourly
online 19:24:24 svc:/system/filesystem/zfs/auto-snapshot:monthly
Using the defaults, except setting com.sun:auto-snapshot=off for swap, dump and a tmp area, no snapshots are created. Trying to set com.sun:auto-snapshot=on for other datasets give me exactly zero new snapshots over time. I noticed com.sun:auto-snapshot was set to 'on', not 'true', but no change after changing that either. This was reproduced on a test system also running 148. As far as I can remember, this used to work on 147.
Any idea what might cause this?
Vennlige hilsener / Best regards
roy
