Hello.
I recently installed OpenIndiana(oi_151a) on a brand-new custom made server.
It consist of :
Asus P8P67 Rev 3.1 Motherboard.
Intel i7-2500K Processor
16GB DDR3 RAM
1x SATA HD for system.
4x 2TB Hitachi disks for ZFS pool.
So the main purpose for this server is acting as a ZFS Server, hosting
AFP and CIFS.
My question is, are there any success stories out there regarding Intel
P67 Express Chipset ?
Could my problem be related to the chipset or am I just shooting blanks ?
My problem is from the time the server has been up and running, I have
had 2-3x complete
system hangs. Not in the same time frame. Different uptimes.
Nothing works on the console, or in terminal session. The machine
doesn't event answer a ping.
Everything just plain dead. I just have to HARD-BOOT the machine with
the restart button.
It seems that the server just died about 19Nov, at 08:39 time.
I then restart the server at 21Nov 09:24.
Here is the LOG file from /var/adm/messages :

My ZFS doesn't show any problems at all.
The only system wide config change I have made is, in my /etc/system I
have :
set sd:sd_io_time=8
(this will give 8sec timeouts for
(more info about that :
http://blogs.everycity.co.uk/alasdair/2011/05/adjusting-drive-timeouts-with-mdb-on-solaris-or-openindiana/
)
Any help and or information would be appreciated.
Would the kernel based debugging help me ? As last uptime was about
8-9days, is it okey
to run the debugger for such a long time?
Thanks allot and best regards,
Svavar O
