[OpenIndiana-discuss] making dual monitor support persistent across reboots

I am running a relatively current version of OpenIndiana on x64,
specifically using an Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 SE frame buffer.

..............................................
% uname -a
SunOS ultra20m3 5.11 oi_151a5 i86pc i386 i86pc

Yesterday, I decided I needed a 2nd monitor, and I went out and
purchased one.

The OI included Nvidia X Server GUI application (Nvidia driver version
295.59) does a fine job of detecting and configuring the second
monitor, but the 2nd monitor doesn't come back up after a reboot. I
have to run through the Nvidia X Server setup again.

The Xorg man page suggest I need a "xorg.conf" file in /etc or one of
several other locations.

The Nvidia X Server GUI appears to create one for me, using the "Save to
X Configuration File" button under X Server Display Configuration.
Unfortunately, generating this file then saving it as xorg.conf doesn't
appear to be enough.

Is there some special trick to get this working correctly? This seems
like it ought to be a pretty simple thing, at least it was with Xsun.

Any URL's that would point me in the correct direction is appreciated.

Jerry
